Project case study

Woodland Worth

Grow the farm, defend your resources and shout down the insurance brokers.

A strategy prototype about defending a farm from overbearing insurance brokers — mixing farming, tower-defense ideas and an intentionally offbeat premise.

The game

Woodland Worth is a strategy prototype with a deliberately strange premise: insurance brokers control the world’s resources, and the player has gone from office worker to field worker in the aftermath.

The core idea mixes farming and tower-defense pressure. Players defend their land from invading brokers while tending the farm to restore their ability to keep fighting.

Play format

The public build is available for Windows, macOS and Linux. I’ve kept it in Download & play so you know before clicking that it’s a desktop game rather than a browser build.

Development journal

The original itch.io project also includes a video journal, so you can look beyond the finished build and get a little closer to the development process.
